I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends

So this time I've done more running and My routine with more added to it. Running isn't that bad between breathing better and a sports bra. It actually makes me want to maybe try jogging outside once it's not insanely hot out.
And I added some more Mii versions of some of my friends, and there's something disturbingly fun about pegging your boyfriend in the crotch with a snowball. And having a goth friend of mine doing step aerobics with me. Oh and having your not exactly sports friendly family run past you while you run. So yeah, things are going well so far, but we'll see where it goes.

Starting over.

I'm going to start over in Wii Fit goals and stuff, because I haven't done much on it since my last post. And that's also why I haven't updating this for a while. I was ashamed that I hadn't worked on anything since a day after my last post. My back started hurting, things came up, oh yeah and I pigged out hardcore at a birthday party. Which made me not want to face the Wii Fit's judgmental scale. So I'm going to erase the data and start fresh in a couple of days.

Days 7 and 8

Yesterday I wasn't able to work out because of scheduling issues.
Yes, scheduling. Anyways, so today I decided to try the my routine feature today. I chose three yoga and three strength. And the first thing I notice in starting it is that unlike the green or blue coloring, this one's a macaroni orange. And I liked the pacing of it. Basically you do them back to back, it doesn't even score you, it just pretty much goes, "done with rowing squats, okay. Next is half moon" which is nice in keeping your heart rate up since you don't have time to ponder the next activity. That's already been done for you. And I don't know if it's clothing or just daily fluctuations, I lost some weight. And although it's not much, I've got to celebrate my wins as they come.

Days 6 and 7

It said I gained more weight. I don't really care anymore, I'm feeling better after a few days on antibiotics. And as my mom said, muscle is denser than fat. And I build muscle pretty well. That and having family over, the last thing I tend to worry about is what I eat. So yeah.
Anyways, I want to clarify, I'm using Wii Fit Plus, not normal Wii Fit. And I like it better than the original for a few reasons.

  1. More activities. I know it's the obvious one, but it's true, I like the kung fu, bike ride, mushroom humping counting, and the other things they added.
  2. Grouping  activities. I love this idea, it makes it easy to focus on some areas. It also is good for warming up and cooling down at the beginning and end.
  3. Changing Names. In Wii Fit, you were obese, overweight, normal, underwI eight, and I believe anorexic or something along that line. And I rank in the first one. And honestly, as a girl who knows this, I don't appreciate the tuba noise, then the little girl voice of the balance board going "that's obese". Thanks, I've only been told that about every six months since puberty. And in Wii Fit, it's Overweight, at risk of overweight, normal, and I don't pay attention past that because if I get down in that area, I don't know what I'd do with myself. I don't know why one is better than the other, but I think it has to do with the voice, and there's not quite the stigma of overweight as there is with obese.
  4. Better trainers. The two trainers have gotten a makeover and a personality tweak. They aren't quite as shrill as they used to be. And that helps when you're struggling through a pose or sweating to keep going when you're pushing yourself with more reps.
  5. So I'm not doing great, but I'm doing more reps of strength, and I even did a bit of running today. Weight can wait, I'm getting stronger.

First Five days

So I started this as a way to try to encourage myself to stick with the Wii Fit, unlike the tons of other times. First off, why I'm using the Wii Fit.

  1. I need to get fit. I have a number of health hazards in my family. And I don't want to get some of them if I can prevent it. Others, I want to lessen the severity of it and lessen my chances of others. I don't want type 2 diabetes, I don't want cancer, and I don't want worse asthma.
  2. I want to lose weight. I called this Fat Girl Vs Wii Fit for a reason. I am chunky, curvy, fat, big, any other synonym for it. And although I am big boned to an extent, but I can't blame everything on my bones.
  3. It's in my house. My Wii is literally right next to my desk. I can't avoid it like a gym. I don't need to pay to use it, I already have. I don't have to worry about body image in my house, or who's watching me. Oh yeah, and showering is so much less awkward.
  4. Variety. The Wii Fit has aerobics, strength, yoga, and games. There is enough that I can try without getting too bored for a while. That being said, I know that good gyms also offer that. But go back and see #3.
And now I go by day or week or whatever.
Day 1- well I set my goals and start playing. And I plan to do it the next day, until my throat started to hurt and I was diagnosed with strep. So I didn't do any workouts on days 2-4.
Day 5- I do almost 30 minutes, then I stop and do my weight and fitness check. It says I gained two pounds. I wanted me to think about why this might me. I chalk it up to the sickness and different times of day. But they don't have a "I have strep and this is right after breakfast versus right before lunch." At least my fitness was back to my actual age.
